The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) handed over ICT equipment worth over Nu 7.3 M to the health ministry, yesterday in support of Bhutan’s National COVID-19 Vaccine Deployment Plan through digital solutions. The equipment will be distributed to the Health Help Centre (HHC), health centres and vaccination points across the country for the smooth rollout of the vaccines.

According to a joint press release from the UNDP, the digital solutions include digitalisation of the COVID-19 vaccination programme and bolstering of emergency medical services response through support to the HHC. These digital solutions are critical to ensuring the quick, efficient, and safe distribution of vaccines.

In addition to the equipment support, UNDP supported the ministry in training HHC operators on supporting vaccine deployment, including familiarising them with the vaccine system, BVS.

Bhutan will rollout the COVID-19 vaccine nationwide starting this Saturday.
