A two storied traditional house in Draagteng gewog under Trongsa Dzongkhag was razed to the ground today. Three people also suffered minor burns from the fire which is said to have stared at around 7 am.
According to the family members, their father was trying to change the cooking gas cylinder when the gas from the new cylinder started leaking out. They said the cylinder caught fire from the burning stove and in no time the fire spread.
The fire could not be contained despite vigorous effort from students of Taktshe Middle Secondary School, police and dzongkhag staff. Nothing from the house could be saved.
The disaster management team from dzongkhag gave immediate relief kits to the fire victims. They also received semso from the Gyalpoi Zimpoen’s office.
