After raging on for the fifth day, the forest fire in Udzorong Gewog under Trashigang Dzongkhag has been contained this morning.
The blaze burnt over 500 acres of forest. Similarly, another forest fire incident in Yangnyer Gewog (same dzongkhag) was put out this afternoon.
The fire, which broke out on Friday destroyed over 200 acres of forest. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
The dzongkhag saw three forest fire incidents from January till now.
