The Prime Minister, Dr Lotay Tshering says the two Royal Kashos on Education Reform and RCSC transformation can be vital in enhancing the quality of teachers in the country. Lyonchhen said this while meeting the final year students and the faculty of Paro College of Education recently. Since both the Kashos are directly relevant to teachers, Lyonchhen advised them to read the kashos.

Over 300 teacher trainees will pass out by June this year and will sit for the Civil Service exam.

“I think both are directly related to you. One is to your profession and one is the system that you will be working with. Read the Kasho, you will learn many things. Maybe because some of you whose mindset is mature enough to digest that the Kasho could be icing on the cake. Your training base could be the Kasho as everything is present in the Kasho,” Lyonchhen said.

The Prime Minister also reiterated that teachers who are the backbone of the country will always remain the priority for the government.

“Going forward we will try our best to focus on teachers. In fact we did already but the pandemic has disturbed the momentum. Now with His Majesty’s Kasho I feel that your future is bright but it is also difficult, definitely good for the country,” Lyonchhen added.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also met with in-service masters in education trainees and the faculty members.
