Paying gratitude to His Majesty The King’s tireless efforts in keeping every Bhutanese safe from the pandemic, the Tsirang district administration constructed a quarantine facility. It was inaugurated today coinciding with the 114th National Day.
The 23-bedded facility is near the Damphu hospital. The district administration constructed it with financial support from the Damphu business community.
According to a shopkeeper, Milan Lama, this is the best they could come up to pay gratitude to His Majesty.
“The quarantine facility will also benefit people,” he said.
Tsirang Dzongda, Pema, said there are many things that could be done without depending on the government’s fund and such initiative is one.
The district administration also launched a free Wi-Fi facility at the Damphu Municipal Office for students. However, the internet will be available during weekends and public holidays.
“Government and private offices are connected with good internet facilities, but it remains idle during weekends and government holidays. So, we are making it available for students and the public during off days,” the Dzongda said.
According to a student in one of the schools in the dzongkhag, Kinzang Chophel, 21st-century education demands a lot of research and the free Wi-Fi service will reduce their dependence on data recharges.
“The pandemic has also forced us to attend online classes and this facility is going to help us a lot,” he said.
For now, an empty room has been designated for the users. The facility will soon have tablets for those who don’t have mobile phones.
Meanwhile, the district also inaugurated portraits of His Majesty The King, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, and His Royal Highness The Gyalsay. The regional offices in Tsirang constructed it in celebration of the national day.
