Police in Thimphu arrested three bar owners for the breach of Public Order and Tranquillity, recently. The bars were caught operating after 9 pm. The case was forwarded to the court today.

In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, all businesses have to close shop by 9 pm to avoid social gatherings as per the directives from the government. Royal Bhutan Police with DeSuup apprehended the bar owners during an ad-hoc intensive targeted patrolling. Ad-hoc intensive targeted patrolling is done thrice a week by the police and DeSuup during the time of this pandemic in addition to the regular patrolling.
