The 54-year-old officiating principal for one of the schools in Tsirang, who was under custody since the 7th of last month, was released on bail by the Tsirang District Court today.
The case surfaced in September when a group of students alleged that the accused indulged in ‘bad touch’ while punishing for underperformance. They raised the claims inline with an awareness programme which included “Bad touch, Good Touch”
Tsirang police upon receiving a written complaint from Tsirang Dzongkhag on 7th November went to investigate the case. A joint team from the Dzongkhag (National Commission for Women and Children representative) and the police apprehended the accused from the school premises on the same day.
