The first private domestic air service was launched today with the arrival of its first aircraft at the Paro airport today.
The single engine aircraft made in Switzerland has eight seats.
According to David Young, the CEO of Tashi Air, “European authorities did a survey two, three years ago and they decided that the single engine turbo craft using the particular engine is actually safer. It has a very safe record.”
Tashi Air’s first commercial flight will begin on December 21.
It will provide flights to Bumthang and Youngphula on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
A one way ticket to Bumthang will cost US$.250 and to Yongphula US$350.
