Rescue operations to save a Bolero vehicle with a BG number, which had skid off road into the river near Chhuzom, was abandoned because of harsh weather conditions.
The Paro Police had received a phone call at around 10 AM, today, reporting a vehicle crashing into the river near Chhuzom. However, the police said the swollen river from the continuous rainfall in the past few days made rescue works impossible.
Though police confirmed the vehicle had run off road, no details, including the number of passengers, were known. Details on the vehicle and its driver are also unknown.
Police said rescue operation can begin only after the river becomes smaller.
