Thimphu police are looking for a 56-year-old man, who is suspected to have murdered a 42-year-old woman. The woman was found dead some 10-15 minute walk away from Jamdo village, under Mewang gewog, in Thimphu.

The suspect had been living with the victim for last three months. He was last seen by their neighbours Friday afternoon. Police said, some neighbours, saw the man return home towards afternoon with some lime. They again saw him leave the house thereafter. Both the suspect and the victim had left the house to collect lime in the morning.

The victim’s relatives had called up the police when the woman did not turn up towards evening. After searching for some time, she was found a few kilometres away from the village. By then she has already succumbed to head injuries.

The suspect is also said to have taken Nu.10,000 and clothes after breaking the closet. The suspect was charged with larceny earlier.

The deceased is survived by five daughters.
