ZhemgangStudent--POstal-BallotOver 200 students from Zhemgang Higher Secondary School submitted their details for the registration. But none of students applied for postal ballot for the upcoming National Council elections. The students said they did not apply owing to the lack of information and awareness.

“I know about the eligibility to cast vote through postal ballot but I did not know how to go about as we had no enough information on it,” said Jamyang Kinley, a student.

The Dzongkhag Electoral Officer said the office had already notified the concerned heads and that they have been informed on electoral procedures beginning this year.

The Dzongkhag Education Officer said the notification was sent when the schools were closed.

The Dzongkhag Returning Office in Zhemgang has received 2,090 applications for postal ballot of which 703 were rejected for various reasons.
