Sonam, an employee of Aman Kora, won the fourth annual Tour of the Dragon mountain bicycle race. The race, which covers the distance of 268 kilometre Bumthang till Thimphu, was flagged off at 2 AM today from Bumthang by the Dzongda.
He had also won the race from last year when he completed the race in 11 hours. This year, he reached the finish point at clock tower square in Thimphu after 11 hours 13 minutes at 13 minutes past one in the afternoon.
Sonam was awarded cash Prize of Nu. 1, 50,000.
Rinzin Norbu, who came in second place by completing the race in 11 hours 43 minutes was awarded 95,000.
The third prize, Nu.75,000 was went Ugyen Yoesar. He completed the race in 12 hours 11minutes. A total of 37 participants including 13 foreigners took part in the race.
