Druk Punjab National Bank’s security guard allegedly shot his co-worker, this afternoon.
Thimphu police said the 50-year-old suspect was under the influence of alcohol during the incident.
The incident, police said, occurred after the duo had a quarrel in the bank’s canteen.
During the interrogation, the suspect said it was an accident, according to the police.
The victim, who is the driver with the bank, sustained a 15 cm wound and is currently being treated at the JDWNR Hospital.
Doctors said the bullet entered through the upper right side of his back and came out from the left side of the back.
The victim is under stable condition.
