Sarpang flood washes away portion of Tsirang-Sarpang Highway(Update): The major flood in Sarpang has washed away a portion of road, blocking the Tsirang-Sarpang Highway at around 11 AM, this morning.

The flood has affected 60 business establishments out of which 56 are Bhutanese and four non-Bhutanese.

Sarpang town is made up of makeshift huts. All household items and goods in the shops were removed to a safer location yesterday by the dzongkhag relief teams.

Affected families have been provided relief shelters along with food in three different locations.

According to our reporter in Sarpang, the river level has subsided a little, but it continues to rain.
