The sacred relics of Kenchosum Lhakhang in Bumthang are on display for public veneration, for the first time ever. There are 22 relics which will be on display for seven days, beginning today.
Some of the relics on display are as old as 1,000 years.
Among the relics, the three statues of Lord Buddha symbolising past, present, and future are considered the most important relics.
The eight-day long Phurpa Drubchen presided over by Sungthrel Rinpochoe is also being held. The Drubchen is conducted for the well-being of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, coinciding with the Druk Gyalpo’s 60th Birth Anniversary.
