Patients with chronic medical conditions and requiring medicine refill will be able to do so by dropping their prescription at a designated shop in one’s respective zone.
The Health Ministry has identified a shop each in every zone for the pick and drop of prescriptions and medicines. This means the owner of the designated shop will take extra responsibility to inform health workers about the prescription and deliver medicines to patients.
Health Minister Dasho Dechen Wangmo, during the press conference yesterday, said health workers will deliver the medicines within 24 hours.
Meanwhile, patients in Thimphu who are suffering from cancer and diabetes, and those requiring dialysis services will be able to avail themselves of the services by calling 77119026, 77119033, or 77119032.
