Incessant rainfall last night has once again caused road blocks at several places in Gelephu. As per the Road Safety Transport Authority, there is a major block at box cutting.
Other minor blocks are at the usual areas like the Sethikhari causeway and before reaching Chuburthang gate. Several light vehicles were stranded on the Sethikhari causeway between the Gelephu town and Pelrithang due to floodwater caused by last night’s rainfall.
Excavators were promptly deployed at the sites to clear the road. By 11 am today, light vehicles managed to cross the blocks. The major erosion at box cutting however will take some time to clear.
