The Royal Audit Authority has cancelled an audit clearance certificate issued to the former Patshaling Gup. The former Gup is contesting from Pangthang chiwog in Tsirang. He was selected as a Gup candidate from his chiwog during the Dhamngoi Zomdu held on November 13.
Without an audit clearance, an aspiring candidate can not file for nomination to contest in the election.
According to the RAA, there is a complaint against the former Gup with the Anti-Corruption Commission. The former Gup allegedly misused his authority while serving as a Gup. The case is under review. The RAA said audit clearance will only be issued after the ACC completes the investigation. Initially, the former Gup received the clearance on November 17. However, the RAA revoked it on November 19.
Meanwhile, BBS learnt that the former Gup is appealing to the concerned agencies today.
