Her Majesty the Queen Mother Tshering Pem Wangchuck inaugurated the new pre-vocational building for Wangsel Institute in Paro, today. The new Nu 15 M structure was financed by Pro-Bhutan, a German Non-Governmental Organization.
The two-storied structure is equipped with the necessary tools that will help introduce the students to skills in tailoring, woodcraft and bakery.
This is the seventh building to be financed by the organization to the school.
Speaking at the ceremony, the organization’s Executive Chairman, Herald Nestroy said the purpose behind the projects was to help “prepare them for a better and richer life”.
Wangsel institute currently has around 80 hearing impaired students.
