Qatar handed the Bhutan National Football team the biggest loss in its football history since 2000. The Bhutanese team was outclassed as they were thrashed 15-0 by Qatar in the World Cup Qualifier, yesterday.

Bhutan’s defense proved fragile yet again and could not keep the Qatar attack at bay. The acres of space in the Bhutanese defense added to the team’s misery early on. Qatar’s goal, within seven minutes, proved to be a killer blow as Bhutan conceded flurry of goals at regular intervals after that.

Trailing 8-0 at half-time, Bhutan endured a nightmarish outing in Doha leaving Bhutan with no chance to stage a comeback.

The onslaught continued in the second half as Bhutan still struggled and failed to put up a challenge. This allowed Qatar to score seven more goals that saw two players notch up hat-tricks for the hosts.

It was brutal learning experience for the disorganized but determined dragon boys.

Qatar wrapped up their biggest ever win and is placed in second position in its group.

Bhutan still remains at the bottom of the table with three defeats and 28 goals conceded.
