Prime Minister meets India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay arrived in Delhi this morning. The Prime Minister was received by the Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs Ashwini K. Choubey at the airport. The Prime Minister met with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi this evening. Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister also met with Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra.

According to the office of the Prime Minister, the visit underscores the deep-rooted friendship and goodwill between Bhutan and India and paves the way for new avenues of cooperation and mutual growth.

During the four-day visit, the Prime Minister will also travel to Mumbai to meet with the members of the Indian business community.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by his wife Tashi Doma, Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade D.N. Dhungyel, Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Gem Tshering, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Employment Namgay Dorji, and senior government officials.
