Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay left for Thailand on an official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin of Thailand.
During the visit, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay will have a royal audience with Their Majesties The King and Queen of Thailand and meet with Prime Minister Thavisin and senior leaders of the Royal Thai Government.
These meetings will focus on matters of mutual interest, including trade enhancement, sports cooperation, and ongoing free trade negotiations.
The visit will also feature the signing of an MoU for cooperation in tourism between the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay will host a reception for Thai tour operators, travel agents, and airlines to promote tourism in Bhutan.
While in Bangkok, the prime minister will deliver a talk on ‘Enlightened Leadership’ at Chulalongkorn University.
Accompanying him are his spouse, Tashi Doma; Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister, DN Dhungyel; Home Affairs Minister, Tshering; and senior government officials.
According to a news release from the Prime Minister’s Office, this visit aligns with the long-standing bilateral relationship between the two countries and aims to further strengthen the close relationship and partnership between Bhutan and Thailand.
