PostScenarioAfterVehicleBanLift. After two years of temporary ban, the government officially lifted the ban on the import of vehicles on July 19- but the lift comes with revised taxations.

The government reasoned that the vehicle tax is inclusive of Sales tax, Customs Duty and Green Tax, saying these had to be raised only for the benefit of the country.

The ban was a temporary measure to address rupee shortage in the country.

While few saw it as good initiative, there were others who were not happy with the change.

And now as the ban is lifted, there are fixed feelings as most are pinched with the revised taxes.
