With electric fencing installed around their fields, farmers of Chhumig Gewog in Bumthang were at peace and thought they had finally secured their fields from wild animals. However, their peaceful time was short-lived.
While the fences successfully warded off wild boars, they are now dealing with a new troublemaker – Porcupines. The rodent sneaks in through electric fences making it difficult for farmers to guard their valued crops in this new unforgiving situation.
