For the people, Chhuzanggang, Serzhong, Taraythang, Umling and Jigme Chhoeling Gewogs in Sarpang travelling to Umling Dungkhag for the public services have been troublesome with poor road condition.

The four-kilometre road from Dangling to Umling Dungkhag is in bad shape and the condition deteriorates during monsoon. The locals said the road needs to be maintained and blacktopped.

“For services, people have to visit the dungkhag office, sometimes people as far as  Thimphu visit the office. They hire taxis but driver drops them till peace road and refuse to drop them till Dungkhag office, due to poor road condition. If the road is blacktopped, it would benefit us immensely,” Purna Bahadur from  Umling said.

“With the shifting of Dungkhag office, we now are hoping that the road will be blacktopped soon, “Karma Yangdon, also from Umling, said.

Meanwhile, the dungkhag administration office said there are plans to blacktop the road in the 2019-20 fiscal year. The Gelegphu dungkhag administration shifted to its new office in Umling Gewog in February this year.
