The Prime Minister Tshering Tobagy has instructed that students across the country be put on a month-long vitamin B complex supplement. This is to prevent further outbreaks of peripheral neuropathy in schools.

It comes after an outbreak of peripheral neuropathy in Gomphu lower secondary school in Zhemgang last month. Thirty five students were affected in that outbreak.

Following Lyonchhen’s instruction, the health minister had issued an order later last week to all dzongkhag health officers to start supplementing Vitamin B complex since Monday.
