PM expresses Bhutan’s interest to do business with West BengalDuring a keynote speech at the second West Bengal Global Business Summit in Kolkata, India, today, the Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay expressed Bhutan’s interest to do business with West Bengal.

Lyonchhen said the summit’s focuses this year are of interest to Bhutan. West Bengal Global Business Summit’s focuses are start-ups, smart cities, growth of IT and financial hubs, and skills and services, among others.

“So, I am here to listen and learn about new and innovative ways of doing businesses in these areas. I am convinced ideas generated here will gain momentum and reverberate well on Bengal to also reach the high mountains of Bhutan,” said Lyonchhen.

West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee had invited the Prime Minister as the summit’s chief guest and keynote speaker.

The summit aims to provide platform for business communities from around the world to collaborate. Higher Officials, including ministers from about 25 countries, attended the summit’s opening.

Economic affairs minister, Norbu Wangchuk and other officials are accompanying Lyonchhen.

The summit ends tomorrow.
