Paro FC has been awarded the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Special Grassroots Award 2019 in the category of the outstanding work by a club in Grassroots Football development yesterday at the AFC House in Kaula Lampur, Malaysia.
Since the formation of the club in 2017, Paro FC has been focussing on youth through its ‘Catch Them Young’ and ‘Keep Them Moving’ initiatives in Paro. They have also successfully reached out to other communities in Bhutan by organising football programmes for monks, people with a disability and parents.
Paro FC is a football club based in Paro district that recently won the country’s top domestic league, Bhutan Premier League.
