To support the government in enhancing conservation management plan, the Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation officially handed over a fund worth over Nu.63mn to the government, today.
The fund will also support eco-tourism management of resources in some of the protected areas in the country.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation, Dr. Pema Choephyel, there are two major projects under this.

The first one, he says, is knowledge-based for invertebrate studies in Bhutan which will be the referencing point in future for the ecosystem, while the other one is conservation management plan for Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation is an autonomous organisation that came into being in 1992.
Till date, it has provided over Nu.540mn of funds to the government for various environmental conservation and social welfare projects.
