About 17 people, including children, from Tokari village under Tsamang Gewog in Monggar were affected by an outbreak of diarrhoea. Four new cases were reported last evening.
Most of them have recovered but a few are still under medication at Monggar Hospital and Tsamang Basic Health Unit.
A medial team also visited the village for immediate treatment yesterday.
Some medical officials say the causes of the outbreak could be lack of proper sanitation and open water source.
They also suspect food poisoning from the food cooked to observe the village’s popular festival, Kharphu.
