OftPrincipalMissing-Chendebji-trongsaA 28-year-old man has been reported missing from Chendebji in Trongsa since yesterday evening. Ugyen Jamtsho, the officiating Principal at Chendebji Primary School in Trongsa, went missing at around 7 pm yesterday.

Ugyen Jamtsho was bound to join his family for Pel De-Choe Khorlo Dompai Wangchen in Punakha. However, a couple of hours later, Ugyen’s neighbor heard a phone ring in Ugyen’s room incessantly. They thought Ugyen must have returned from Punakha.

But the phone kept ringing. When the neighbours, who are also teachers in the same school, went to check, they found the room latched from outside. Ugyen’s car was parked outside.

They also found his cell phone and the cloths, he wore before he left for Punakha, on the bed. But he was nowhere to be seen.

After waiting and searching for him for quite some time, they called Ugyen’s wife only to be told he never made it to Punakha.

The Dzongkhag Education Officer, Tek Bahadur Subba, said a team of about 40 people are still searching for him.

Ugyen Jamtsho is from Jamkhar in Trashiyangtse.
