His Majesty The King granted an audience to Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the Foreign Secretary of India today. The Foreign Secretary is in the country on a three-day official visit.
The visiting secretary also called on Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay earlier this morning. Later, he met with the Foreign Minister Damcho Dorji.
Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar assumed his responsibilities as the Foreign Secretary of India in 2015. Prior to the appointment, he served as the Indian Ambassador to the United States of America.
Dr. Jaishankar joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1977 and has more than three decades of diplomatic experience. He holds Ph.D. and Master of Philosophy in International Relations, and a Master’s degree in Political Science.
