His Majesty grants Dhar to appoint ambassadors and Dzongdags

His Majesty The King granted Dhar to appoint Bhutan’s Ambassadors to Bangladesh and Thailand, as well as the Dzongdags for Dagana, Trashigang, Samdrup Jongkhar, and Lhuentse.

Sonam Tobden Rabgye, the former head of the Policy and Planning Division of the Foreign Ministry, is the new Ambassador of Bhutan to Bangladesh, and Tshewang C. Dorji, previously the chief of Regional Organizations Division of the Foreign Ministry has been appointed the Ambassador of Bhutan to Thailand.

Phintsho Choden, the former director of the Department of Youth and Sports, has been appointed the Dagana Dzongdag.

Chekey Gyeltshen, who worked as the director of the National Assembly Secretariat, has been appointed as the new Trashigang Dzongdag,

Tharchin Lhendup, who was working as the executive secretary of the Phuentsholing Thromde, is the new Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongdag, and Jambay Wangchuk, who served as the director of the Armed Forces School Project, is the new Lhuentse Dzongdag.

In accordance with Article 2.19 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan, His Majesty The King appoints Ambassadors and Dzongdags on the recommendation of the Prime Minister who obtains nominations from the Royal Civil Service Commission.
