Sangbaykha police in Haa have apprehended two men for alleged voluntary manslaughter, tampering of evidence, aiding and abetting, and failure to report a crime. Both of them are in their early 40s and were arrested on Thursday.

According to sources, one of the suspects allegedly struck a 39-year-old man with an axe on ribs and legs during a heated argument. The man succumbed to his injuries. The other man allegedly destroyed the deceased’s mobile phone and cleaned up the evidence of manslaughter at the scene.

Sources said all three were under the influence of alcohol during the incident.

It happened earlier last month.

The suspects were arrested following the post-mortem report and evidence indicating alleged manslaughter.

The deceased and the two suspects are from Samtse and work as caretakers of different farms in Gakiling Gewog. Police are still investigating the case.
