The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is investigating an alleged embezzlement case by an accounts assistant in Trashigang. She allegedly embezzled funds amounting to nearly Nu 11 M in the financial year 2016-2017.
According to the Annual Audit Report 2020, the woman allegedly embezzled funds when she was serving as the accounts assistant for Bidung, Phongmey, Radhi and Shongphu Gewogs in Trashigang. She has also allegedly forged the signatures of the gewog officials.
She was transferred from the Trashigang district administration in December 2018 to the district court. She is currently serving in Pema Gatshel district administration.
Meanwhile, BBS could not contact the alleged accounts assistant.
