A person returning from the Middle East becomes the sixth COVID-19 case in the country

A person who had returned from the Middle East has tested positive for COVID-19. The person who was in a quarantine facility in Paro has been moved to the isolation ward in Thimphu.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health says the second COVID-19 case, 59 year-old partner of the index patient left the country on April 20. The other three COVID-19 patients are in stable condition and are in de-isolation.

As of yesterday, there were over 1400 people in 75 facility quarantine centres and two in home quarantine. More than 3500 have been discharged after completing their quarantine period.

With six imported cases of COVID-19, two recoveries and no cases of community transmission, Bhutan continues to remain in the Orange zone.
