Agriculture and Livestock ministry distributes assorted vegetable seeds worth Nu 3 M to hailstorm-affected farmers in Tsirang

The Agriculture and Livestock Ministry has distributed assorted vegetable seeds and maize and buckwheat seeds worth over Nu 3 M to the hailstorm-affected farmers in Tsirang. The heavy hailstorm on the 10th of this month affected vegetables and cereals in more than 290 acres of farmland belonging to 1,265 households in eight gewogs of Tsirang. The storm also damaged more than fifty-eight thousand fruit trees in the district.

GC roads in Zhemgang need major maintenance      

A Gewog Centre road connecting three gewogs in upper Kheng of Zhemgang is in dire need of maintenance. The roads need immediate resurfacing. However, the local leaders said that the respective gewog administrations do not have enough budget to execute resurfacing works.
