Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa, the latest political party to announce its intention to contest the 2023 parliamentary elections, held its first party convention in Paro today. The party president and vice president were also elected during the convention and the party charter also drawn and approved.

Private schools not happy with govt’s decision to absorb all class X graduates into govt. schools

The private higher secondary schools in the country are worried about the government's decision to absorb all the class X graduates into government schools. Following the announcement of the Class X results last month, the government decided to stop providing new scholarships to private schools. Until last year, the government provides scholarships to more than 2,000 students to study in private schools after passing the class X exams.

Wire mesh fencing to encourage reviving fallow land – Pema Gatshel

Almost half of the agricultural land in Pema Gatshel remains fallow. This means there are nearly 9,000 acres of fallow land in the district. According to the RNR census report 2019, people were compelled to abandon their farmland following human-wildlife conflict among other reasons. However, to combat such challenges, the government said it will provide wire mesh fencing to the farmers soon.

They will now no longer have to undergo the five-day mandatory facility quarantine.

Need for regular inspection and monitoring of buses at Nangar- Bumthang

Taking care of fallow land to curb human-wildlife conflict- Tsirang

If you have land in Kilkhorthang Gewog in Tsirang which has been left fallow, you will have to clear the bushes annually henceforth. This is one of the resolutions passed by the gewog administration during the recent Gewog Tshogde. It is to curb the human-wildlife conflict in the gewog.
