Man allegedly stabbed to death due to extramarital affairs, Wangdue Phodrang

A 41-year-old man is under custody for alleged voluntary manslaughter in Wangdue Phodrang. The incident took place on February 21 at the labour camp of the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong Reconstruction Project at Samthang. The suspect from Tsholingkhar in Tsirang was arrested from the Khuruthang Police Checkpoint in Punakha while he was returning to his place after the incident. His clothes were covered in blood.

Waste management issue in Tharpaling monastery, Bumthang

With hundreds of pilgrims visiting the various temples and sacred sites at the Tharpaling monastery of Chhumig Gewog in Bumthang, waste management is becoming an issue. With the district’s landfill located over 25 kilometres away from the monastery, disposing of the waste is a challenge. Vendor slapped more than Nu 2 M in fines for selling banned chillies, Thimphu
