The DeSuup who was injured in an accident last year is back in the country

The 25-year-old DeSuup who met with an accident in Babesa last year is back in the country. According to the National Referral hospital, she was on the flight from Delhi on Monday and she is currently in quarantine in Thimphu.

PSCC facilitated travel arrangements for some 5,000 stranded people

Nearly 5000 stranded people in Thimphu following the lockdown on 20th of last month have left home, as of today. More than 10,600 stranded people had registered with the Public Service Call Centre 1010. The Centre facilitated the travel arrangements in coordination with the respective districts. All the travellers were tested prior to their departure.

Thromde asks garment vendors to vacate, Gelegphu

Since 2015, 22 women have been making a living from selling garments from temporary sheds near the Gelegphu vegetable market. However, Gelegphu Thromde has asked them to dismantle and vacate the area by the end of this month. The Thromde plans to construct a new two-storied vegetable market in that area.

DoR to start with rigid pavement of the road between Nganglam and Pelzomthang Checkpoint

A paved road is long overdue for the people commuting between Nganglam town and Pelzomthang Checkpoint. The 2-km stretch of road near the Pagadrang is left unpaved due to lack of budget. CNR to launch PhD course in Climate Change

The College of Natural Resources (CNR) in Punakha is launching the first-ever Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) course in Climate Change Studies in July this year. Tagtse will have a BHU by next year, Trongsa

Tagtse chiwog under Draagteng Gewog in Trongsa will have a Basic Health Unit (BHU) Grade-II by next year. The construction work is expected to start next week. But until it is complete, people have to travel to Kuenga Rabten BHU or Trongsa hospital which is almost 25 kilometres away, to avail health services.

The Umling Dungkhag Court today conducted the independent hearings for officials involved in the case regarding a businesswoman breaching quarantine protocol in Gelegphu. Three health officials from Gelegphu Regional Referral Hospital and the Desuup Coordinator for Sarpang Dzongkhag were called for the hearings.
