Former Gup Naku gets 2 years in jail on charges of government land encroachment
Thimphu District Court sentenced Naku- the former gup of Chang Gewog under Thimphu Dzongkhag to two years in prison.
High Court convicts six men for murder
The High Court sentenced six men from four years to life imprisonment for the murder of a 26-year-old man. The judgement passed yesterday also ordered the two main convicts to pay a compensation of Nu 492,875 to the deceased’s father within one month from the date of judgement.
Government doing away with Class X cut-off point a concern says Opposition
Besides compromising the quality of education, doing away with the cut-off point for class 10 could prove to be a huge financial burden to the government’s exchequer says the Opposition Party. Fire guts house in Trashigang
