Land Commission’s Legal Head released

National Land Commission‘s Legal Head Karma Jamtsho has been released. Karma Jamtsho, accused to have been involved in a land scam involving the former Chang Gup Naku, was released yesterday evening.

Travelling via Indian routes not safe anymore, say Bhutanese commuters

Bhutanese commuters plying via Indian routes are concerned especially in light of frequent threats posed by miscreants. On Saturday, five trucks narrowly escaped an attack after they were pelted stones. Although, all the truckers escaped safe, windshields of four trucks were reported to have been cracked.

To cater to the patients, especially during the emergency cases, doctors, assistant clinic officers and nurses across the country are attending a weeklong emergency training at National Referral Hospital in Thimphu. The training is to enhance the skills and knowledge and to make emergency services equitable among doctors and nurses across country. The training is being conducted by the national referral hospital along with a team from the US.

Bhutan celebrated the First International Snow Leopard Day in Haa. The International Snow Leopard Day was declared by 12 snow leopard countries in the world at Bishkek in Kyrgyz Republic in October, last year. In Bhutan, there are no known records on the number of Snow Leopards in the country. Various cultural programmes and skits were also presented during the celebration.

300 volunteers walk 48 KM to raise funds

Arrow hits a man in Punakha

An arrow hits a 45-year-old man in Lingmukha under Punakha, at 3 PM, yesterday. The arrow pierced the victim’s neck during a friendly match.
