A 23-year-old woman from Tsirang died after she was washed away by Barsa River in Pasakha, Phuentshogling. The incident happened this morning when the deceased and her friend were crossing the river, on their way to work. According to the deceased’s friend, the deceased dropped her purse in the river and while trying to pick it up, she was washed away. The body was recovered from about a kilometre downstream. Police ruled out any foul play.
