A private sawmill in Gelegphu was saved from being completely gutted by fire, in the early hours this morning. Eye witnesses said timely intervention by the police, local people and the Thromde Office saved the sawmill.

A nine-day Hindu Shamajik Puran is underway in Darla Gewog under Chhukha Dzongkhag. The religious ceremony, which began yesterday, is being presided over by Pandit Dr. P.L Nirola, President of the Hindu Dharma Samudaya of Bhutan. Lam Neten of Chhukha Dzongkhag also graced the opening ceremony.

Around 23 peer counsellors and outreach workers from Thimphu, Paro, Bumthang, Samdrup Jongkhar and Phuentshogling took part in de-addiction workshop.
