Two community forests at Nyala and Drangla under Trongsa dzongkhag were handed over to the local community last Saturday. The people of Nyala and Drangla in Tangsibji Gewog in Trongsa will now have the authority to nurture and utilize resources available from the forest. Over 200 acres of forest was officially handed over by the dzongkhag forestry division to the people.

GDG to promote culture

Big trouble for orange growers

Tsirang is known for its quality oranges, but orange orchards in the dzongkhag are not producing as great a yield as they once used to. Worms have been attacking the oranges, causing them to drop off before ripening.

More services for city bus users

Travel for women with toddlers, pregnant women, senior citizens and people with special needs in City Buses has been made easier. There will be designated seats in every bus for these categories of people. At the moment, there are only three designated seats as people are expected to give up their seats to such people if other seats are unavailable.
