In the ongoing Thimphu “A” Division Football League, Yeedzin FC is currently at the top of the table with 10 points and a goal difference with Thimphu City FC. At the the end of the first round of the league, Dzongree FC is at the bottom with just 1 point. There are five teams competing in the league which ends on the 15th of this month.

Candidates-designate can be replaced: ECB

Druk Phuensum Tshogpa and People’s Democratic Party could look at candidates-designate from Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa and Druk Chirwang Tshogpa under four special circumstances says the Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB).

DCT out but hopeful about 2018

Despite failing to make it to the general round of the National Assembly elections, Druk Chirwang Tshogpa (DCT) is determined to start preparing for the 2018 elections.

A six day cross-country marathon organised by Bhutan Menlha Adventures started from Punakha, today. Twenty international runners are taking part in the marathon. They will be covering 200 kms from Punakha till Taktshang monastery in Paro by using all existing trekking routes.

DPT wins 33 constituencies

In the primary round of the National Assembly elections, most Bhutanese voted in favour of Druk Phuensum Tshogpa but the People’s Democratic Party performed better than in 2008.

Highest postal ballots go to DPT

Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) secured the highest number postal ballots with 42.8 percent in the primary round. People’s Democratic Party (PDP) secured 35.9. Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa (DNT) got 18.8 percent. The Party to secure the least votes through postal ballot was Druk Chirwang Tshogpa (DCT) with just 2.3 percent.

Another price hike for fuel

The price of fuel has increased by Nu.0.79 and diesel by Nu.0.81 per litre.

To inculcate love for environment, a new scheme-“my tree” was launched, today. To begin with, students from 32 Thimphu Thromde schools planted trees in and around the Thimphu city. These saplings will be nurtured by the students themselves.

DPT and PDP in General Round

Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are the two parties that will form the parliament following the primary round of elections, yesterday. The Election Commission of Bhutan, officially, declared the results, this morning.
