Tandin Wangchen wins Mr.Bhutan title once again

Tandin Wangchen once again won the title of Mr. Bhutan 2013 beating 13 other competitors at the 6th National Bodybuilding Championship. The championship was held yesterday in Thimphu.

About 280 polling and presiding officers in Tsirang district have been dispatched to their respective polling stations today. Tsirang district is deploying about 122 security personnel from the Royal Bhutan Army and 60 security forces from the Royal Bhutan Police. There are 42 polling stations in Tsirang district.

His Majesty grants farewell audience to parliamentarians

The Prime Minister, National Assembly Speaker, Cabinet Ministers, Opposition Leader and the Member of the Opposition received a farewell audience with His Majesty the King yesterday.

26 senior armed force personnel promoted

His Majesty the King promoted 26 senior armed force personnel to the rank of Colonel yesterday. Sixteen officers are from the Royal Bhutan Army, seven from Royal Body Guards and three from the Royal Bhutan Police. The new colonels received congratulatory scarf from His Majesty the King in a traditional ceremony at the throne Room.

Arrest warrant for reality show organiser

The Lhuentse District Court has issued an arrest warrant for the Bhutan Star organiser, Nidup Dorji. The arrest warrant was issued after the organiser failed to appear before the Court despite being summoned three times.

National Assembly dissolves

The National Assembly of the first democratically elected parliament dissolved, today.  The Assembly completed its five year term, since its constitution in April 2008. The members of the assembly offered Tashi Moenlam at the Gyalyong Tshokhang, at the last day of the Assembly.
