PM begins official tour

Gelephu RRC disposes off foster beer

The Regional Revenue and Customs office in Gelephu yesterday, disposed off the foster beer, they had confiscated in November last year. The beer, worth Nu 3, 00,000 was dumped at the Gelephu Thromde’s dump yard. The consignment belonged to a businessman in Tsirang.

Indo-Bhutan Friendship Mela begins in Assam

Indo-Bhutan Friendship Mela at Subankhata in Assam, India began Thursday. The opening was jointly carried out by Local leaders of Assam’s Baska District and Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongrab.

The week-long Mela at Subankhata, which is about 20 kilometres from Samdrup Jongkhar, concludes on 23 of this month.

Yangphel style archery tournament begins in Gelephu

A Yangphel style archery tournament kicked off in Gelephu Thursday. This is the first time such a tournament is being organized in Gelephu.  Twenty three teams are participating in the tournament. The final is slated for the 9th of next month.

Bhutan is a young nation with 60 percent of its population below the age of 22. By April this year, close to 90,500 youth between the ages of 18 to 25 will make up one fourth of the registered voters.
