His Majesty, the Chief Guest at the India’s Republic Day parade

His Majesty the King was the Chief Guest at the India’s Republic Day parade being held at India’s capital city New Delhi, today. This is India’s 64th Republic Day. It was on this day in 1950, when the Constitution of India came into effect, and India became an independent republic. Thereafter, January 26 has been celebrated as the Republic Day of India.

Bird flu detected in Gelephu again

Cases of the highly pathogenic Avian Influenza H5N1 have been detected in Sarpang Dzongkhag. This time it is in Pelrithang in Gelephu and Chuzargang Gewog. The first case was detected about a week ago in Namkhaling.

It is with immense joy that I stand here today among great friends in a nation that we all love - and with pride and honor, that I represent Bhutan at the Republic Day of India.
