Kazakhstan joins Bhutan’s list of diplomatic relations

Bhutan has now established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Joint Communiqué was signed by Lhatu Wangchuk, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the United Nations, and Byrganym Aitimova, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations.

Feeding hungry students

Every student of Wolathang Primary School in Punakha has to walk a  minimum of one hour to reach the school. After a long, back and forth, walk to school and home these students are tired and hungry. Since many of them come from economically disadvantaged families, for whom coming up with two squares of meals a day is next to impossible, these small children often go hungry in school.

High Court suspends ACC’s suspension order on Home Minster and Speaker

The High Court temporarily suspended the order issued by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) suspending the National Assembly Speaker and the Home and Cultural Affairs Minister. This comes after the office of Attorney General filed a petition to the High Court stating that the ACC does not have the unilateral authority to issue the suspension order.

Man dies in accident
